Some brain fucker uppers
Here we will host two brain teasers every so often, something to come and look at while you are all monged out and have nothing better to entertain your mind with. Answers at the bottom of the page. But first here is two of the best worded brain teasers of the month:
Brain Teaser #1
A 30 year old man married a 25 year old woman. She died at age 50
and her husband was so devastated that he cried for years. Ten
years after he stopped crying, he died. If he had lived to be 80,
how many years was he a widower?
Answer
He was a widower for 25 years.
Brain Teaser #2
An explorer was captured by a tribe whome chief decided that the
man should die. The chief was a very logical man and gave the
explorer a choice. The explorer was to make a single statement.
If it was true, he would be thrown over a high cliff. If it was
false, he would be eaten by lions. What statement did the clever
explorer make that forced the chief to let him go?
Answer
The explorer made the statement, "I will be killed by lions." Now, if the chief does feed him to the lions, his statement will have been true, so he should have been thrown off the cliff. But if he is thrown off the cliff, his statement will have been false. The chief had to admit that the only fair course of action was to let the explorer go free. |
